Baby Jakin

Two days ago, I photographed my first newborn session.  It blew my mind.  All this time I've admired newborn photography, and I've seen all of the cute outfits babies are dressed in and all of the cute poses they're doing and the little baby grins on their faces...  It looked easy to photograph a cute, dressed up, smiling-while-sleeping baby.  But I had no clue what a unique art newborn photography really is.  The adorable pictures we see come from skill, experience, and hours of patience.  I truly admire newborn photographers that have mastered the skill necessary to capture those photos.

I feel very blessed to have photographed baby Jakin. He is truly a gorgeous baby boy.  I am excited to take what I learned from this session and apply it to the newborn session I have in a couple weeks.  I love any opportunity to see my own improvement.

Trine-Marie and Andy

This is a wedding I did a while ago in the dead of summer but haven't featured yet on my blog.  Trine-Marie and Andy are such an adorable and fun couple, and I was blessed to be a part of their special day.  At first, I was nervous that the Georgia heat on this day in July would hinder the picture-taking part of the day, but Trine-Marie, Andy, and their entire bridal party were such troopers.  They allowed me to take "fun shots" of the bridal party jumping, acting, and hanging off of playground equipment.  Their beautiful reception was held at the Hardeman-Sams House in Athens, and at it I got to meet some of Trine-Marie's kind family that came all the way from Norway.  All in all, it was a gorgeous wedding and fabulous day.

Also, for some reason I was on a black-and-white kick for this wedding.  Although VERY unlike my style, I think it can create a "classy" or "traditional" look for pictures.  Hope you like it!

Abi and John

Abi and John are an adorable couple that I was blessed to photograph at Stone Mountain with a good friend Mike Getchell of Getchell Photography.  I love getting to know couples and watching how they interact with each other.  Turns out Abi is a complete rockstar in front of a camera.  She came up with her own poses and was adventurous enough to kick off her cowboy boots and jump in the lake for some interesting shots!  Often times men are less interested in being photographed than women, and it was adorable watching Abi's sparkling personality bring out John's smiles during our shoot. They're getting married in April, and I can't wait to be a part of their special day!

Regina and Raymond

Yesterday I was blessed to photograph Regina and Raymond's wedding at the UGA Chapel.  It was a gorgeous day outside with a clear sky and dew drops on the flowers.  Both Regina and Raymond graduated from the University of Georgia, so the Chapel was a special location for them and they dashed out after the ceremony to ring the bell.  It was a blast photographing the bridal party having fun and enjoying themselves on this special day.  What I'll remember most about this wedding, and I think the pictures capture it, is how Regina looked at Raymond with the biggest, giddiest smile all day.
