Hannah and Matthew have easily become two of my favorite people over the last year. I met them through doing their engagement and wedding photography, and I now consider them great friends of mine. They got married at the Cecil B. Day Chapel at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens, which is one of my absolute favorite chapels. Tucked away in the woods, this chapel's gorgeous woodwork and natural light makes it a beautiful place to get married.
My favorite moment of the day was Hannah and Matthew's "first look." You can see in these photos the overflowing excitement these two felt about marrying each other. Some other things I loved from this wedding: The etched hanger Matthew made and gave Hannah, the bridesmaids' hand-painted shoes for the reception, and the camping-themed groom's cake Hannah made for Matthew (just to name a few!). The best thing about this day was that even when a few unexpected challenges arose, nothing phased Hannah and Matthew - they remained focused on the bigger picture of what this day was all about: two becoming one before Christ.
The reception was held at the Foundry Park Inn, and the day ended with paper lanterns floating away in the night sky. I hope you enjoy these photos! You can also view a slideshow that encompasses their day here. I want to say a big Thank You to the family and friends who made this day so special.
